Overview
Tost.ed is a word game designed for language learners. We aim to collect as little information as possible, and we do not require you to create an account to play.
Information we collect
When you play, the app generates and stores a random device identifier on your device. This identifier lets us verify your app purchase and manage feedback submissions. The identifier is not tied to your name, email, or any personal information. Game history and settings are stored locally on your device and never sent to us.
Purchases
Tost.ed is a paid app. You purchase the app once through the App Store. Purchases are processed by Apple; we receive a transaction receipt to verify your purchase but do not receive or store your full payment details.
Definitions
When you start a game, the app looks up the bread word's definition from Simple English Wiktionary. If a definition is found, it is stored on our servers so that future players receive it instantly without another lookup. Only the word, its part of speech, and its definition are stored — no personal information is included.
Feedback
If you submit feedback through the in-app form, your message is emailed to us and stored with your device identifier. To limit spam, one submission is allowed every 5 days per device.
Service providers
Tost.ed relies on two third-party service providers: Apple processes the app purchase and supplies the transaction receipt used to verify your purchase, under Apple's own privacy policy; and Base44 hosts the app and its backend, storing your device identifier and purchase status so we can manage your access. Neither provider is used for advertising.
Analytics
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the app.
Data storage
Your device identifier and purchase status are stored on our servers solely to manage your access. Your game history, scores, and settings stay on your device.
Children's privacy
Tost.ed is designed for all ages, including educational settings, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can delete your local game data at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Reinstalling the app generates a new device identifier.
